Isfahan, Iran – The Islamic Republic of Iran executed four individuals convicted of terrorist crimes on March 8, 2023. The executions were carried out in accordance with the country’s legal framework, which permits the death penalty for the most serious crimes.

The executions were met with mixed reactions. Some people praised the government for taking action against terrorists, while others expressed concern about the death penalty.

The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, a widely recognized international treaty that sets standards for the protection of fundamental human rights, permits the death penalty for the most serious crimes. However, the treaty also requires that the death penalty be imposed only in accordance with the law and that it not be used against people who were under the age of 18 at the time of the crime.

In the case of the four individuals executed in Iran, they were all adults and were convicted of crimes that are considered to be among the most serious under Iranian law. As such, the executions appear to be in compliance with international law.

The armed assault that led to the executions occurred on November 16, 2022, in the Negahbani square of the Khaneh neighborhood commonly referred to as the ‘Khaneh Esfahan’ or ‘Isfahan House’ in Isfahan. The terrorists, who were members of the People’s Mojahedin terrorist organization (MEK), opened fire on innocent civilians and security personnel, killing three security defenders and injuring several others.

The assailants were quickly apprehended by the authorities, and a trial was held in the Isfahan Province Justice Administration. The defendants were represented by lawyers, and the court heard evidence from both the prosecution and the defense.

After a thorough investigation, the court found the defendants guilty of terrorism and sentenced them to death. The executions were carried out in accordance with the law.

The executions are a reminder of the serious threat posed by terrorism. Iran has been a target of terrorism for many years, and the government has taken a tough stance against those who commit terrorist acts. The executions are a sign that the government is committed to protecting its citizens from terrorism.

Who is MEK?

The People’s Mojahedin terrorist organization (MEK) is a cult-like group that has been designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, and the United Nations. The MEK has a long history of violence, and its members have been responsible for numerous terrorist attacks, including the assassination of several Iranian officials.

The MEK is currently based in Albania, and it has been trying to rebrand itself as a peaceful political organization. However, the group’s true nature is clear from its history of violence. The MEK is a dangerous terrorist organization that poses a serious threat to Iran and the region.

The executions of the four terrorists in Iran are a just punishment for their crimes. The executions are a sign that the government is committed to protecting its citizens from terrorism, and they are a warning to other terrorists that they will be brought to justice.

Embarking on a completely Iranian trip, the 86th Iranian Naval Flotilla, consisting of the mighty Iranian destroyer Dana and the versatile Makran pilot, showcased Iranian knowledge, thinking, and unity throughout their 210-day mission. Together, they covered an astounding 65,000 kilometers of sea routes, leaving an indelible mark on history.

Join us as we delve into the exhilarating details of their historic mission, brimming with adventure, resilience, and a commitment to peace.

A World Voyage of Friendship and Exploration

Setting sail from the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, Iran, on September 20, 2022, the flotilla embarked on a mission to promote peace and friendship worldwide. Their first stop was the bustling port of Mumbai, India, followed by Jakarta, the vibrant capital of Indonesia. These initial encounters set the stage for the grand adventure that lay ahead.

Navigating through Treacherous Waters

The flotilla charted a course through the Bay of Bengal and the Strait of Malacca, venturing into the vast Java Sea. They sailed through the challenging Strait of Makassar and the Celebes Sea, marking a historic milestone for Iran’s military seafaring as they ventured into the expansive Pacific Ocean. Across the mighty Pacific, they encountered enchanting islands such as Micronesia and Polynesia, leaving a trail of awe and wonder in their wake.

Conquering the Atlantic and Celebrating Milestones

Continuing their voyage, the flotilla made their way towards the Strait of Magellan, located in the southern reaches of the Americas. Crossing this maritime gateway, they entered the vast South Atlantic Ocean, where they navigated along the coasts of Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. It was in the enchanting city of Rio de Janeiro that they anchored, coinciding with the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Brazil, a momentous celebration of friendship and shared history.

A Testament to Resilience and Self-Reliance

Throughout their journey, the Iranian Naval Flotilla showcased their unwavering strength and self-reliance. The Makran support ship emerged as a lifeline, providing crucial supplies such as fuel, water, food, and even medical services. Equipped with an 8-bed hospital, the Makran played host to life-saving surgeries at sea, where skilled doctors and surgeons carried out operations, including an emergency appendectomy and successful cardiac intervention. The resilience of the crew was truly remarkable.

Technological Marvels on the High Seas

Behind the scenes, a dedicated support group in Tehran aided the flotilla’s voyage using state-of-the-art supercomputers. These powerful machines analyzed complex weather conditions, ensuring safe navigation through diverse climates and seasons. From solving intricate weather problems to mapping out optimal routes, the supercomputers played a pivotal role in the success of this unprecedented journey.

A Triumph of Global Significance

The completion of the 86th Iranian Naval Flotilla’s world voyage stands as a testament to the remarkable capabilities of the Iranian Navy. This incredible achievement extends far beyond territorial waters, embracing a global mission of peace and friendship. The flotilla’s encounters with foreign navies and their engagement with local communities fostered mutual understanding and cultural exchange, paving the way for lasting connections across continents.

The epic voyage of the 86th Iranian Naval Flotilla captures the essence of adventure, resilience, and a deep commitment to peace. From navigating treacherous waters to showcasing technological marvels and delivering medical miracles, their journey resonates as a triumph of human spirit and cooperation. As the flotilla sailed back into Iranian territorial waters, they left an indelible mark on the world stage, forever etching their names in the annals of maritime exploration.

Upon the triumphant return of the 86th Iranian Naval Flotilla to their home shores, a grand reception awaited their arrival. Government officials, proud families of the staff, and enthusiastic well-wishers gathered to celebrate their courageous feat. The sight of the flotilla’s ships entering the harbor, adorned with flags and banners, invoked a sense of national pride and unity.

Amidst a joyous atmosphere, speeches were delivered, commending the bravery and dedication of the sailors who had embarked on this extraordinary journey. At least 65 ISIS terrorists, including several high-ranking intelligence commanders, were killed in Iran’s recent missile attack against the Takfiri group’s targets in eastern Syria, according to a statement by Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
Four ISIS positions were struck in the missile attack and Saudi, Kazakh and Afghan nationals among the terrorists killed in Iranian missile strike.
The IRGC fired six medium-range ground-to-ground ballistic missiles into ISIS bases in Syria’s Deir Ezzor on Sunday in retaliation for twin terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital Tehran, which killed 17 people and injured over 50 others.
A Daesh weapons and munitions cache in northern Deir Ezzor was “precisely struck and completely annihilated,” the statement said, adding that several tanks, military vehicles and suicide cars and a huge number of long-range missiles were destroyed. It added that six ISIS terrorists were killed and 10 injured in the attack.

‘The enemy cannot slap us, we’ll slap them!’ only a few hours after Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued the warning to Iran’s enemies during a meeting with families of Iranians martyred in Syria, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched 6 missile strikes at ISIL command centers in Syria’s Deir Ezzor in retaliation for the June 7 twin terrorist attacks in Tehran on Sunday.

Missiles fired by Iran to the ISIS reportedly were of Zulfiqar type with a range of 750 km (466-mile). While Israel remains outside this range, Iran’s Shahhab ballistic missiles can reach the regime occupying Palestine. (The missile is named for the sword which the Prophet Muhammad gave to the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib ahead of the 625 AD Battle of Uhud).
This became Iran’s first operational use of its missile arsenal since Iran- Iraq war while the US has increased its pressure on Iran to limit the country’s missile program.

Subsequent to the defeat of the terrorists in Aleppo, leading to losing a key base in north-west of Syria, a huge number of terrorists relocated to Deir Ezzor in the west and the surrounding areas. Moreover, a great number of the terrorists having fled to Syria in the wake of the defeat in Mosul are operating in this region for the time being.

While History remains a subject of contention within the Islamic community as it often forces to look upon those actions, and those events which defined, shaped and at times divided us, History stands as well a guidance for those humble enough to see NOT blame but an injunction to do better.
From Mecca to the plain of Karbala: Walking with the Holy household of the Prophet, by Catherine Shakdam deals first and foremost with History as it recalls the tragedy of Karbala and the martyrdom of Imam Hussain by looking into those events which led to his rising against Tyranny.

Directed at Muslims and non-Muslims alike this body of work ambitions to shed light on a movement which to this day is anchored in Islam’s greatest principles: that of Justice, that of Jihad, which contrary to popular belief is not a call for war but justice – that in the face of oppression one must speak Truth.

A son of Islam, the progeny of the Prophet Muhammad, Imam Hussain has towered a revered figure of Islam – an example of courage, compassion, resilience, dignified piety, and grace. It is so that the world could learn of his deeds and speak the true name of Islam that this book was written.

We hope you will hear Hussain ibn Ali’s cries of freedom and remember what the grandson of the last Prophet of God sacrificed so that God’s religion would be restored.

From the cave of Hijra where Jibreel first spoke to Muhammad ibn Abdullah, to the plain of Karbala where Hussain ibn Ali drew his last breath, it is always liberation from falsehood Islam spoke of, and fought for.

The book is available on Amazon worldwide.

The book download version can be accessed here.

It was Malala Yousafazi, who said: “We realize the importance of our voice when we are silenced.” Today we have the opportunity to speak up and denounce the most heinous crimes of all – those committed against children.

Because our laws only have the power to protect and deter when they are applied and implemented absolutely – regardless of one’s status or station; is it not therefore our collective duty to rise against those who seek to defile and defy our laws, for they imagine themselves above all judgement?

Can we afford to remain silent when our laws are tossed to the wind and ignored, for certain powers chose not to be bound to those words they vow to uphold?

Today one young man, Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, stands to be executed by Saudi Arabia for crimes he did not commit; on account his family dared defy the kingdom’s rule of silence. Arrested at the age of 16 by the Saudi Security Forces, Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, grandson to prominent Shia cleric and activist: Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr was unlawfully arrested and tortured.

Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, born December 25, 1995, was a minor when the Saudi authorities arrested him for participating in a peaceful protest. He is now aged 19, and has been sentenced to execution by beheading and crucifixion.

Ali Mohammed al-Nimr was held in a juvenile prison and forced by torture to confess to crimes he did not commit. Furthermore, he was held incommunicado for 6 months and was denied legal representation.

Ali Mohammed al-Nimr has now been moved to a maximum security prison where he is in solitary confinement. There, he awaits alone, knowing that his sentence could be carried out at any minute.

Ali’s predicament is not an isolated incident – Saudi Arabia’s prisons hold many minors within their walls; and too many, just like Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, have been sentenced to death, in clear violation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).

It needs to be noted that in June 27, 2012, Saudi Arabia agreed to be a state party to the CRC, when the Saudi Human Rights Commission signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

And yet, Saudi Arabia has systematically violated Ali Mohammed al-Nimr’s rights – all before the deafening silence of the United Nations.

Not only has the UN failed to fulfill its mandate by challenging those in infractions of international law, it rewarded the kingdom.

In June of 2015 Faisal Trad, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador in Geneva, was elected Chair of the UN Human Rights Council panel that appoints independent experts.

Today we wish to break the silence and denounce those crimes the international community should have acted against long ago!

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) states:

“Article 37 States Parties shall ensure that:(a) No child shall be subjected to torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Neither capital punishment nor life imprisonment without possibility of release shall be imposed for offences committed by persons below eighteen years of age;

(b) No child shall be deprived of his or her liberty unlawfully or arbitrarily. The arrest, detention or imprisonment of a child shall be in conformity with the law and shall be used only as a measure of last resort and for the shortest appropriate period of time;

(c) Every child deprived of liberty shall be treated with humanity and respect for the inherent dignity of the human person, and in a manner which takes into account the needs of persons of his or her age. In particular, every child deprived of liberty shall be separated from adults unless it is considered in the child’s best interest not to do so and shall have the right to maintain contact with his or her family through correspondence and visits, save in exceptional circumstances;

(d) Every child deprived of his or her liberty shall have the right to prompt access to legal and other appropriate assistance, as well as the right to challenge the legality of the deprivation of his or her liberty before a court or other competent, independent and impartial authority, and to a prompt decision on any such action.”

Moreover, under article 15 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), peaceful assembly is a protected right. It reads:

“Article 15: 1. States Parties recognize the rights of the child to freedom of association and to freedom of peaceful assembly.

2. No restrictions may be placed on the exercise of these rights other than those imposed in conformity with the law and which are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of national security or public safety, public order (ordre public), the protection of public health or morals or the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.”

There are a number of active petitions calling for the unconditional and immediate release of Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, including:

The White House (for U.S. citizens only).

The video shows Saudi warplanes trying to intercept an Iranian civilian aircraft that was on its way to deliver humanitarian aid to the war-ravaged Yemen .

Behzad Sedaqatnia, Iran Aid Plane Captain, recorded footage of Saudi fighter jets following his plane closely.

The Iranian aircraft had received permission to fly to Yemen via the Omani airspace to deliver urgently required medicine for those injured in the Saudi aggression of Yemen.

Saudi jets bombed the airport preventing the Iranian aircraft from landing.
