In an interview with Iran’sView, Dr. Mahdi Motaharnia, an Iranian Middle East Analyst said: the participants of Iranians in the upcoming election will provide Iran a better position, increasing the resistance of the country against “forming coalitions of 4+1 and 4+2 of Arab countries and Israel against Syria and Hezbollah”.

Coalition of 4+1 introduced first in Israeli Yedioth Aharonot newspaper where Alex Fishman, Military analyst reported a new coalition is coded in the U.S foreign ministry reporting as 4+1, which includes Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey and Palestinian National Authority plus Israel and operates against Iran.

“It will also improve Iran status in Iran nuclear talks”, he said.

Motaharnia pointed out to different opinion about Iran intervention in Syria and said: some in Iran and Lebanon emphasize the necessity of powerful intervention of Iran and Hezbollah if any other countries decide to intervene in Syria.”

“Other analysts believe the present events in the region lead to a chaos  to paving the way for other countries to intervene in Syria”; he said, “while the direct presence of Iran and Hezbollah might leave negative effects on public opinion, legitimizing the NATO involvement, under the leadership of the U.S.”.

He concluded that all the analysis should be evaluated precisely and the moves of the U.S in the region should be wisely considered.

A new regional coalition against Iran: 4+1

Alex Fishman reported that according to his Israeli and American sources, the purpose of forming this coalition of 4+1 is confronting with Iran, Syria and Hezbollah.

“First, the U.S will not discuss the regional defense agreement like NATO”, he pointed out, “but rather, they insist on cooperation among these countries, especially on security information exchanging and bilateral visits.”

He added: the members of this informal coalition will exchange information and security warnings and will cooperation in order to defense against terrorist plots as the Islamic extremists have increased their activities in the region.

“The U.S faces challenges to make Israel and Saudi Arabia cooperate”, he reported, “but there are some agreements made behind the scene which will be revealed soon.”

“Last February, in the International meeting of Defense Ministers in Berlin, Ehud Barak and Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia shook hands warmly”, he wrote.

He pointed out to the shift of Jordan policies toward Syria and added: the increase of challenges in Syria- Jordan- Israel borders in recent months resulted in closer cooperation between Amman and Tel-Aviv.

“Regarding Turkey and Israel, their extended economic relation, and having Iran and Syria as the common threat have led to their common point of view to regional issues”, he reported.

Fishman concludes: the U.S doesn’t consider Egypt as a perfect government and they define it as a “half-government”; they don’t expect much of Cairo and that’s why they try to make Bahrain and Qatar join this coalition; which aims at confronting Iran. The members of this coalition are also worried about the arm export of Iran to Syria.”

Following the recent Israeli air strikes on Damascus, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei sent a message of “full and unlimited support” to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, the Lebanese newspaper Al- Akhbar reported on May 8th.

The message was handed over by Iran’s Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi to Assad during Salehi’s short visit from Damascus on Tuesday.

In the message, Al-Akhbar reported, Ayatollah Khamenei assured Assad of Iran’s full political, Military and economic support for the Syrian leadership and for people to confront the “Takfiris, terrorists, Israel, the U.S. and all who may dare to attack the country.”

On Friday and Sunday, Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes on Syria. Afterwards, the Syrian government called the attacks a “flagrant violation of international law.”

“It’s time to stop the Zionist regime’s aggressions against the people of the region,” Salehi said during his meeting with President Assad according to a report by Lebanese Al-Manar TV.

“We’re on your side and will not let Syria fall into the hands of Israel or the U.S. or the Takfiris,” he added.

Takfiri’s are religious fanatics who use violence to compel people to their way of thinking.

Prior to his visit to Syria, Iran’s foreign minister arrived in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Monday and had separate meetings with Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Prime Minister Abdullah Nsour on Tuesday.

According to Al-Akhbar newspaper, Salehi imparted “a clear and unequivocal message of Iran’s strong commitment to protect Assad and Syria,” to the Jordanian King Abdullah.

“You must be aware that if the US decides to go to war with Syria, your kingdom will go in the process,” this message, Jordanian sources described as a direct message from Iran’s Supreme Leader. It warned the Jordanian king of the “American trap that threatens your throne and will wipe Jordan off the map.”

“The Islamic Republic is ready to provide you what you need in the face of pressures and to avoid the conflict moving into Jordan,” Salehi said to King Abdullah and underlined “Iran’s willingness to transfer Jordan into its camp.”

According to the sources of Al-Akhbar who are close to the Jordanian royal court, “King Abdullah was friendly and listened to the Iranian message. He assured Salehi that Jordan will not be interfering in Syria.”

Syria has been experiencing a deadly unrest since March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security personnel, have been killed by foreign-backed militants, which Damascus says are trained and supported by the Western powers and their allies in the region.

Several international human rights organizations have accused foreign-sponsored militants of committing war crimes.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi reaffirmed Tehran’s support from Syria in a meeting with the Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad on Tuesday.

“It’s time to stop Zionist regime aggressions against the people of the region,” Salehi said Assad on recent Israeli air strike on Syria.

“We’re on your side and will not let Syria fall into the hands of Israel or U.S. or Takfiris,” he added.

After the meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister, Bashar Assad was quoted by Lebanese Al-Manar TV as saying the country is able to confront Israeli aggression.

“The recent Israeli aggression expose the size of the complicity between the Israeli occupation, regional countries, and the West in backing the current events in Syria,” Assad said in his first remarks since Israeli warplanes conducter airstrikes on Syria over the weekend.

“The Syrian people and their heroic army… are capable of confronting this Israeli adventure, which represents one of the faces of terrorism that is targeting Syria every day,” he added.

Ali Akbar Salehi, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Monday in the first leg of his Middle East tour.

In Amman, Salehi had separate meetings with Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Prime Minister Abdullah Nsour on Tuesday.

In Amman, Salehi stressed Iran’s opposition to any foreign intervention in Syria and called for a negotiated solution to the crisis in the Arab state.

“We reject any foreign intervention in Syria and we don’t want Syria to plunge into crisis…,” Salehi said in a joint press conference with his Jordanian counterpart, Nasser Judeh, in Amman on Tuesday.

“The Syria crisis and its consequences for the region are very heavy, and must be peacefully settled within the framework of a Syrian-Syrian solution. [If] any political vacuum occurs in this country, its consequences would affect all [regional] countries,” he said.

On Friday and Sunday, Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes on Syria. Afterwards, the Syrian government called the attacks a “flagrant violation of international law.”

The Syrian Foreign Ministry has sent letters to the UN Security Council stating that Israel’s aggression shows the links between Tel Aviv and terrorist groups operating in Syria, including the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front.

Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoabi told reporters in Damascus on Sunday that Syria had the right and the duty to defend its people by all available means and it would not give in to Israeli acts of aggression.

Muslims and especially Shias, witnessed two appalling moments in the past two weeks. Thursday 2nd of May, the tomb of Hujr Ibn Uday, 660 AD in Al-Raqa province of Syria was desecrated and his body was exhumed by the Al-Qaeda linked terrorist group called Jabhat Al-Nusra.

Uday was one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad and Imam Ali, the first Imam of Shia and fourth Khalifa for Sunnis. Sunnis pay him respect for being one of the companions of the Prophet and Imam Ali.

Not so long after the spread of this news, Extremist Takfiris destroyed “Jafar Tayyar’s” tomb in Kirk city of Jordan, in an arson attack. Jafar Tayar was the brother of Imam Ali and also one of the famous companions of the Prophet Muhammad.

Jordan hasn’t yet commented on the attack.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi headed to Jordan today to “discuss a political breakthrough from Syria crisis,” according to a statement by Ramin Mehmanparast, spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

The Muslim world (mostly Shias) was in a rage. People, governments, scholars and Shia groups held demonstrations around the world, especially in Iran. They blamed the US and Israel for these calamities.

The “US and Israel are behind these desecrations,” Said Sayyed Hussain Naghavi, spokesman of the National Security Commission in Iran’s Majlis in an interview with Iran’sView.com.

He believes that every Islamic group respects Prophet Muhammad and his companions, so those extremists who desecrate Muslims’ sanctity have no place in the Islamic world.

“Because those who perform these anti-religious acts are mercenaries who are paid by Zionists, this was an insult to the all of the Islamic world, not just the sanctity of a particular creed.”

“We are against desecration of sanctity of any different creed of Islam and anyone who insults others’ belief will be punished according to Iran’s law.” added Naghavi.

Religous leaders strongly condemned these calamities and reiterated the need for unity between Shias and Sunnis.

They blamed “Takfiri terrorists who were provoked by Zionists and their slave states in the region.”

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also accused western powers of being the main culprit in the desecration in Syria.

234 Iranian MPs condemned the desecration of Hujr Ibn Uday’s tomb. The Parliamentary party of the Iranian Sunnis also condemned the desecration of Prophet Muhammad’s companion’s tomb.

Muhammad Reza Naghdi, a senior IRGC official and the commander of the Basij force commented differently. He said, “the desecration was a hasty response by the US to the Ulama conference in Tehran, because this conference has affected US plans in the region.”

Some analysts believe that Syrian army achievements in Aleppo, Damascus and some areas in Al-Qasayr which are on the border with Lebanon forced the opposition extremists to retaliate.

“It seems that the recent desecrations and the Israeli missile attack on Damascus are meant to put political and psychological pressures on Syria, so the country and its foreign supporters will lose focus. Armed Syrian oppositions believe this will work for their benefits,” Muhammad Darabi, a West Asia analyst told Iran’sView.

“These actions were carried out to pave the way for the demolition of other Islamic symbols especially Masjid Al-Aqsa in Quds ( Jerusalem). We will see a strong answer from Muslims and especially Shias because they can’t take in any further desecration,” Darabi who has been working in study centers on Syria and Lebanon added.

Following these attacks, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah, said the group will be defending Zaynab shrine to prevent any attacks from Takfiris.

Ayatollah Sayed Mojtaba Husseini Iran’s Supreme Leader representative in Syria also warned against any attacks on Zaynab and Roqayeh shrines. “We would respond firmly to any desecration at any time,” he said.
