This comes as Washington continues to put considerable efforts into applying illegal sanctions on Iran.

The President of the United States of America Donald Trump

Just two days after the US Senate advanced Iran Sanctions Bill, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said putting Qatar under blockade had led to “unintended” humanitarian consequences and called on Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt “to ease the blockade.”

“We’re seeing shortages of food. Families are being forcibly separated, and children pulled out of school…Our expectation is that these countries will immediately take steps to de-escalate the situation and put forth a good faith effort to resolve their grievances they have with each other,” the US top diplomat said.

The call for easing Qatar’s blockade comes as, despite the nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries, the US Senate unanimously approved a bill to tighten Iran sanctions on Wednesday. The sanctions not only have significantly hampered Iran’s international trade, but also created serious obstacles in the way of importing medicines, endangering the Iranian patients’ lives over the past decades.

Meanwhile, the US senior officials have repeatedly accused Iran of sponsoring terrorism with no solid evidence. In the latest case, US President Donald Trump called the Tehran twin attacks the fruits of Iran’s support for terrorism. The attacks, which left 17 dead and dozens injured, were claimed by the ISIS terrorist group.

Trump’s statements which sparked international criticisms across the world stand in direct contradiction with his presidential campaign promises. During his campaign Trump repeatedly blamed his predecessor, President Barack Obama, for supporting Saudi Arabia. He also praised Iran and Russia for their fight against ISIS.

But Trump dramatically changed his positions since taking office and particularly after signing a $110b arms deal with Saudi Arabia. Now, he not only remains silent towards Saudi Arabia as the ideological hub of terrorism, but also accuses Iran of sponsoring terrorism.

It seems that the US expresses concerns about terrorism and accuses certain states of sponsoring terror based on its trade ties with the regional states. With its significant trade relations with Saudi Arabia, the US has already closed its eyes to Riyadh’s dictatorship, violent acts and sponsoring terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda that was behind 9/11 attacks.

Interestingly enough, Washington is against Qatar blockade despite admitting its support for terrorists in Iraq and Syria. During his Friday statements, Tillerson said: “The nation of Qatar unfortunately has historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level.”

He went on saying: “The emir of Qatar has made progress in halting financial support and expelling terrorist elements from his country, but he must do more and he must do it more quickly.”

In a meeting with representatives from students groups on Sunday, Iran’s leader called on those who claimed vote fraud in 2009 presidential election to apologize to the nation.

In response to a question asked by one of the student about the aftermath of the 2009 presidential election, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei urged that the main figures behind the election unrest  should not be forgotten, emphasizing that although many made mistakes during the unrest, the main issue was violation of law and street riots.

After the reformist-backed Hassan Rowhani won the 2013 presidential election, a number of so-called reformist figures and media demanded the freedom of Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, two 2009 presidential candidates who are under house arrest for inviting people to street riots.

“The main issue should not be lost. Well, in 2009 election those who claimed fraud in the election why did called on people to come to streets to deal with the alleged cheating? Why don’t they answer this question?”

For the first time, Ayatollah Khamenei also talked about having private talks with the two candidates without mentioning their names. “We asked them many several times in non-public gatherings but they didn’t have any response. So why don’t they apologize? In private meetings they say we confess there was no fraud [in the 2009 election]. Well, if there was no cheating why did you brought all the disasters for the country. Why did you impose all the costs to the country?”

He warned that the 2009 unrest in Iran could have led to bloody conflicts like what currently is taking place in Egypt. “Had God not helped and people had fought each other, do you know what would have happened? Today you see in the countries in the region where people fight each other what happens. They led the country to the brink of such a precipice. God didn’t let that happen, the nation also had insight. This is the main issue of 2009 events.”

The MP Ali Motahari also demanded the clarification of the fate of Mousavi and Karroubi, pointing to the “national reconciliation” created as a result of the recent election. He also demanded “the removal of the effects of the 2009 crisis”.

But Iran’s leader has set two main conditions for forgiving Mousavi and Karroubi, “apologizing to the nation” and “publicly confessing that there was no vote fraud in 2009 election”.

Ayatollah khamenei also pointed to the strategy of the Islamic Republic in the region, emphasizing that Iran’s supports and policies about the regional events in most cases guarantees the internal stability of the country.

“The events you see happening in Egypt and some other places show Islamic Awakening exists in these countries but it wasn’t managed well, they acted naïvely. The scene in Egypt is a very painful scene. It is very painful for us who observe. This happened because of the mistakes. Some things should not have been done, some things should have been done but were not. The Arrogant Powers are in a strange lining today, making a long front against this awakening.

“When observing the regional events, one notices something and that is the deep strategy of the Islamic Republic in these regions. There are events that count like roots and means of stability or holding ropes of the tent for the inside [of the country]. This is deep strategy with which the Arrogant System is anxiously fighting, with no result so far and no result in the future.”

“They have a wrong understanding of our deep strategy and what they are doing is wrong,” Khamenei added.

In response to a student who asked about the motto of the president-elect, “the moderation policy”, the leader said the president himself is going to define “the moderation” and people can judge it then. He reiterated his support for Rowhani and the future government, reacting to the criticism against the president-elect. “I don’t oppose criticism but note that first, criticism is different from reproaching, and second, he must be given a chance to work.”

“Egypt is the origin of the Islamic Awakening and the people tried in the last year to support real Islamists but the ruling system was so bad that another coup happened,” Ayatollah Khatami said.

Blaming the Muslim Brotherhood for recent events in Egypt he said: “After 80 years of organizational and political activities they were not useful to the people.”

“We expected the Egyptian people who are supporters of an Islamic awakening to not let their country become the backyard of the Zionist regime again,” said Khatami who is also a senior member of the Assembly of Experts.

Khatami then distinguished Takfiris and Wahabis from Islamist groups.

“[Wahhabism] is created by Britain and they are doing crimes against humanity in Syria as they did in many other places. We expect all of the Muslim leaders to publicly denounce the Wahhabis and say that Wahhabism is not an Islamic branch.”

The Takfiri extremists according to an article by PressTV hate everyone who doesn’t share their primitive misinterpretation. Their attitude toward Sufis, Shias, traditional Muslims, and of course non-Muslims is simple and brutal: “Off with their heads!”

The world was recently shocked by a video of US-backed Takfiri militants beheading two Christians, including a priest, in Homs. The disgusting video – filmed and posted by the Takfiris themselves, who seem proud of their actions – was just the latest in a series of atrocities perpetrated and filmed by Takfiris in Syria.

Another such video shows a Takfiri eating the heart and lungs of a slain Syrian soldier. Russian President Vladimir Putin says he hopes the US-backed Takfiri delegation to future peace talks will not include any cannibals, since that would make it hard for Russia to provide security for its diplomats.

Morsi KerryFollowing the removal of Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi from power, an Iranian senior lawmaker reiterated that the ‘improper behavior of the Muslims Brotherhood’ was the key reason of recent events in Egypt.

“The consequences of Morsi being overthrown is against the Islamists and all Egyptian revolutionaries,” said the Chairman of Iran Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi in an interview with the Iranian ISNA news agency.

Boroujerdi believes that Morsi should have made a wide change in the system and removed the officials from Hosni Mubarak’s regime.

“The first mistake of the Muslim Brotherhood was that they only removed a few of ex-regime’s senior officials and they didn’t make any change to the body of Egypt’s Security, Military and Intelligence organizations,” he said.

“One of the problems with Mubarak was that he continued following US politics and Egyptians had expected an independent government to come to power. But Morsi didn’t make any significant change in such politics and he continued Mubarak’s stance towards Israel and Iran,” Boroujerdi said.

morsi-egyptIran nevertheless still favored leaving Morsi in charge and to allow him to reconcile with the opposition.

Iran on Tuesday had called on the Egyptian military to support national reconciliation and respect the “vote of the people” after it warned it was ready to intervene in Egypt’s political crisis.

“Mohamed Morsi is the incumbent president based on the people’s vote,” Iranian deputy foreign minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian told the official IRNA news agency.

“It is expected the armed forces of Egypt that they play their role in supporting national reconciliation and respect the vote of the people.”

Regarding the Egyptian troubles Iran’s View contacted Dr. Reza Sadr-al-Hosseini political analyst and Iranian university professor.

“Tehran has offered its help to Egypt in handling the crisis and restoring peace in the country,” Hosseini said

“It was expected that Egyptian government will include every political group and party involved in the revolution against Hosni Mubarak and they have a share in the government. But this never happened,”

“While Egyptian revolution was in its middle stages, Morsi couldn’t have a uniting approach toward political groups and meeting people’s demands, “he said.

“Muslim Brotherhood was iconic for its stance against the Zionist regime and world powers in decades. But Morsi didn’t act accordingly. In fact, the president was ignorant of to the country’s independence, domestic capabilities and skilled Egyptians and did not use revolutionaries in his administration,” he said

But Hosseini thinks Morsi still has a chance to return and make reforms “only if he pays attention to what people want and learn some lessons from the revolutions in the region.”

“Morsi should sit at the negotiation table with the representative of the opposition and form people groups involving every opposition. Intellectuals in the opposition should be made sure that their say will be used by the government.”

“Iran respects the Egyptian revolution though the recent developments are domestic issues and Iranian officials hope that negotiations between the Egyptian government and the oppositions will provide stability for the country,” he said.
